I am friends with many of Ira and Charlie's relatives and have stayed in their homes in Alabama, and they have come to our place and stayed in our home. They were all very fond of Ira, and knew that he had his problems, but also considered him to be a very warm person with a wonderful personality.

The Punches Family from Fredericktown, MO is a great family band that went out on the road full time last June 1, 2010. They play a lot of festivals and churches.

Rockin' Acoustic Circus as a hot young band is a cut above the rest in my opinion. With Rick Morton who has brought these "something" teens together and given them the basics that have ingrained in them a strong respect for the roots and bloodlines of traditional bluegrass music. But, he has allowed these young virtuosos to bring their musical brilliance and creativity to the table and push the envelope to capture the "newgrass sound" that is that has become a staple of the contemporary acoustic music scene. This blend of the old and the new allows the traditional to live on, while the innovation that is inevitable in any progressive music genre to maintain its roots while opening new avenues of musical adventure. They represent this trend at its best.
Every time I hear them, they have evolved and are leading me down a new acoustical path in total amazement.

There is a group from Culman Alabama that has a great sound. The band is Pam Thrower and Shine Bluegrass band. They play traditional bluegrass, modern bluegrass and original tunes written by Pam Thrower. Check them out or just look up Pam Thrower and Shine bluegrass band with your search engine. TRULY BLUEGRASS WITH A TWIST.
